How to wear the Drive Oxymizer Device?
- Slide the loop adjustment collar (bola) down to enlarge the size of the loop.
- With the back of the facepiece toward you, pick up the OXYMIZER with one of the small flexible plastic tubes in each hand, as if putting on a pair of eyeglasses
- Place the flexible plastic tubing over your ears (as shown in diagram below) and under your chin or pass the tubing over your ears and around the back of your head.
- The facepiece should rest on your upper lip under your nose with the oxygen-delivering prongs extending well into and pointing towards the back of your nose.
- Slide the bola up toward your chin so that the cannula fits snugly and comfortably against your face.
- Connect the female connector to your oxygen source.
- Turn on the oxygen and set the flow rate as prescribed by your doctor or healthcare professional.
How to put on the Oxymizer Pendant?
- Uncoil the tubing completely. Hold the device so that the front of the Pendant is facing away from you.
- Position the nasal prongs so that they fit comfortably into your nostrils. The prongs should extend well into and point toward the back of your nose.
- Position the nasal prongs and extend the tubing across your cheekbones.
- Place the tubing around your ears and adjust each side so that you have a snug, comfortable fit. Do not allow the tubing to go completely around your Neck. This may create a choking hazard.
- Attach the tubing clip to join both sides of the cannula tubing. Slide the clip upward beneath your chin to hold the tubing in place (you may choose not to use the clip simply by removing it).
- The Pendant portion should rest against your chest below your throat. You may want to tuck it under your shirt or blouse.
- Connect the female connector to your oxygen source.
- Turn on the oxygen and set the flow rate as prescribed by your doctor or health care professional.
Replacement
The OXYMIZER Pendant and oxygen-conserving devices should be replaced after approximately three weeks. More frequent replacement may be needed for cleanliness and sanitation, depending on conditions of use.
Cleaning
The disposal OXYMIZER oxygen-conserving devices are clean and ready to use, and are supplied in individual containers. The outer surface may be cleaned with soap and water, but care must be taken not to allow the membrane within the reservoir to become wet.
