Shiley Mallinckrodt Hygrobac HME Filters are used in tracheal ventilation circuits to keep airborne pathogens out and moisture in. The combined filter reduces the setup time electrostatic hydrophobic membrane to protect against cross-contamination. It has a hygroscopic membrane that traps patient's moisture, providing effective airway humidification, and has low resistance to the airflow minimizes the work of breathing.
